  36. WHAT'S NEW IN FREE AGENT 1.21?
  37. ===============

  39. This version fixes the following problems related to Y2K:
  40.  
  41. 1.    When displaying dates, the year was not padded for two-digit 
  42. years less than 10.  This happened if you had the date format configured 
  43. in your Windows control panel to display two-digit years. For years 
  44. 2000-2009, the software failed to pad with the leading zero, and displayed 
  45. the year portion of the date as 0 - 9 (e.g., 11/12/9, instead of 11/12/09 
  46. or 3/8/0, instead of 3/8/00.   This problem was cosmetic only, however, as 
  47. messages would be displayed and purged correctly.

  49. 2.    Handling of certain two-digit years in a message's Date: field 
  50. was incorrect.  If the Date: field in a message received by the software 
  51. had a two-digit year, the software did not correctly interpret the year 
  52. for values between 00 and 69. The software assumed the century was 1900, 
  53. and subsequently incorrectly interpreted the date because it could not 
  54. handle dates prior to 1970.  In addition, the software assigned the wrong 
  55. time.  Messages affected by this problem were displayed and purged 
  56. incorrectly. Note, however, that the vast majority of messages used 
  57. four-digit dates, and were not affected.  Free Agent now correctly 
  58. interprets the year value. Free Agent assumes that any year in the range 
  59. 00-69 is in the 21st century, and any year in the range 70-99 is in the 
  60. 20th century.

  62. 3.    When getting newsgroups (e.g. Get New Groups, Refresh Groups 
  63. List...), Free Agent did not format the year correctly for years between 
  64. 2000 and 2009.
